Child/Family Sessions

Child & family sessions can be a bit stressful, please relax! If you are overwhelmed, your children will be too! Please feel free to bring a favorite doll, a football, a colorful toy, or other activities like a wagon, bubbles, etc. are all wonderful too. I will work with everyone at their pace as everyone has their own. I ask that you please allow me to lead the way for a wonderful portrait experience and I will ask if I need assistance. Sometimes, we will work one-on- one, away from the pressures of "performing" for mommy and daddy. And just some helpful last minute tips… make sure your little one get lots of rest the night before and that our session isn't too close to nap time. Also be sure they are well fed before and please feel free to bring snacks & water with you also. Sometimes that's just the boost they need in between shots. a parent must always be present during the session. It is your responsibility to make sure kids stay safe and that infants/babies are within your arms' reach.

Engagement Sessions

I really love seeing the magic between a couple that is getting ready to start their lives together. I want to see what makes you a unique couple and what you two love! What makes each of the two of you separately... one! I'm open for unique locations because I like to see your personalities come through in the session location(s) we choose and also in your attire. So go for it! Get dolled up! Whether you are dressed romantically modest or even getting funky! Bright spots of color, cool converse and a hip tie, sexy heals with some straight leg jean... mix it up!

Choosing the Location

I am always willing to try new places! Tell me a little about you and the feel you want for your photographs and I can help guide you to the best locations for your session that will fit you and your lifestyle. Newborn/baby sessions are usually held in your home, as well as boudoir style maternity sessions.

What is it Like?

If you can dream it, i can do it! I will arrive to our session a little early, scouting out the landscape and scenery to find the best lighting and areas. And as we go along if something catches your eye please let me know! I always welcome your ideas, so if you have something specific in mind please tell me before the session so I can come prepared. Don't be surprised if I ask you to all jump in the air, lay down in the grass, or make silly faces at each other! Just keep an open mind and be ready for a great experience and beautiful memories for a lifetime to come!

Try to keep hair, nails and makeup simple. Don't forget to clean & trim everyone's nails and toenails (especially mom's and dad's on newborn sessions).

Not Feeling Well?

If someone is sick, let's reschedule.  I will always reschedule sessions if I am ill.

What to Wear?

  • For individual portraits:fun, bright colors are nice. Nothing too wild, best to stay away from anything with writing on the clothing, we want the focus to stay on you!
  • For family portraits: neutral, solids, and blending colors work well together.
  • Newborns, usually photograph the best in their birthday suit or diaper.
For all sessions dress in something you feel comfortable in. It's hard to be yourself, otherwise. Dressing casual often works well for some, even bare feet, jeans rolled up, or khakis are all great for a natural, relaxed feel. Dressing up is fun too, again, as long as you feel comfortable! You are welcome to also bring more than one set of clothing for the shoot or any props that you would like to have in your pictures!
